In his opera Siroe, Handel for the first time used a libretto by the still young and in England almost unheard of Pietro Antonio Trapassi, who just a short time later became one of the most successful opera librettists of the eighteenth century under the pseudonym of Metastasio. Directed by Wulf Konold, the opera will be performed by young singers and instrumentalists specialising in music from the eighteenth century.
